How to do a garage door adjustment?
The garage door on your home is not something that you think about very much. As long as it opens and closes when you need it, there is not much to worry about. What most people do not realize is that over the course of the lifetime of the garage door, the way it works will change. It will not lower all the way to the ground at times or it may rise up too high. There may be times when the door is too hard to open or they may be times when the door is too loose. When this happens it does not mean that you need to replace the entire garage door mechanism. Instead it probably means that you need to do a garage door adjustment.

If you follow the steps for a garage door adjustment, your garage door will soon be working the way it is supposed.
Raise the garage door until it is engaged in the lower slide.
Find the open limit switch on the garage door opener. Press and hold this until the door opens completely. When you release the button, the setting is saved.

On the power head there is a screw that is called the open force screw. You will turn this screw counter clockwise. When the screw stops turning, you need to open the garage door. If the garage door does not open completely, repeat the process of turning the screw counterclockwise until the door opens properly.
There is also a close force screw. Turn this screw counterclockwise and press the close button on th4e garage door. Repeat this process until the door close properly.
That is all it takes to perform a garage door adjustment for most garage door openers. It only requires a short amount of time and a screwdriver. Be careful not to set this too high as it could cause an injury to anyone using the garage door.
